Headquartered in the Western United States, Lucas R. Woolf & Associates, PLLC provides investigative, consulting, and training to clients on and between coasts, as well as, around the world. Our President/Owner, Lucas R. Woolf, has over 32 years of dedicated service and experience in the wildland fire suppression, prescribed fire, and investigation arena.  Formerly a Special Agent with the United States Forest Service, Mr. Woolf performed as his agency's National Wildland Fire Investigation Specialist, Incident Commander of their Wildland Fire Investigation Team, served as the Co-Chair on the National Wildfire Coordinating Group's (NWCG) Wildland Fire Investigation Committee, and co-authored the national standard for wildland fire investigation (PMS 412).

With decades of frontline wildfire operations, federal law enforcement experience, and national leadership in wildfire investigation, Lucas R. Woolf has been involved in some of the most complex and high-profile wildfire cases in the United States.

He has led national wildfire investigation teams, contributed to the development of federal wildfire investigation standards, and provided expert analysis in litigation involving utilities, railroads, government agencies, and private parties.

His work integrates origin and cause determination, fire behavior analysis, and real-world operational experience—providing clients with clear, defensible, and technically sound conclusions - including specialized analysis of smoke-related injury and fatality incidents.
